RIT Grace Watson Dining Hall

Milestone Construction Partners recently completed this 14,000 sq ft renovation from March 2021 to August 2021 for the Rochester Institute of Technology.  As the largest dining hall on campus, it is affectionately referred to as "Gracie’s” by students and staff  and housed in Building 25 Grace Watson Hall. Gracie’s was gutted from floor to ceiling to allow for the major overhaul. The newly constructed design expanded existing floor tiers within the space with metal framing and concrete allowing for new furniture to add flexible seating options throughout. A new handicap ramp spread across different level tiers added to the space allows for accessibility to the server area. Helping in accessibility while adding a modern feel to the area, glass, and stainless-steel cable railings were featured in this design. A new glass conference room, fireplace, solid surface wall caps and seating adds functionality and elegance to the area.  The new ceiling and HVAC layout complements and allows for the new state of the art lighting package that included large circular hanging fixtures, hanging pendant fixtures, and hanging linear lighting fixtures. Floating ceiling clouds above the finished floor lead students from the ground floor glassed-in entrance to the dining hall and ties in the feature fireplace wall, accentuating the new modern finishes.   The existing space had not been renovated since the early 90s and is now a bright, clean, functional dining hall space that can serve the University for years to come!
